A content management system is a software system for organizing and facilitating collaborative creation of documents and other content.  There are a huge number of both open source and commercial content management systems on the market.  Avantia has implemented a range of systems from clients in health care to emerging industries.

An enterprise grade content management system is never a system used out of the box.  This is true for all commercial products, as well as for open source.
